Carrie M. Weaver obtained her undergraduate degree from Indiana Wesleyan University in 1999 before going on to spend several years working in child welfare. Ms. Weaver then went on to earn her Juris Doctorate from Syracuse University College of Law in 2008, graduating cum laude, and being admitted to the California State Bar in November of the same year.
Prior to beginning her career as a workers’ compensation defense attorney, Ms. Weaver completed a clerkship for the Department of Veterans Affairs, Board of Veterans’ Appeals in Washington D.C.. Her work at the Board of Veterans’ Appeals involved determining which issues had been procedurally developed for appellate review; analyzing all previously developed evidence and prior adjudicative processes, and; drafting independent and final decisions to be reviewed and signed by the Veterans Law Judge. Upon completion of this clerkship, Ms. Weaver received an Exceptional Achievement Award for the number and complexity of appellate decisions drafted.
Ms. Weaver represents self-insured employers, insurance carriers, and third party administrators in defending workers’ compensation claims. She employs creative strategies and works quickly and with determination to reach an early and cost-effective resolution for her clients. She has developed a reputation throughout the legal community for her aggressive approach to defending workers’ compensation claims.
Ms. Weaver is an active member of both the California State Bar and the District of Columbia Bar.
